ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Dr. Meena Pakala. Having earned my M.S./Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from one of world's top institutions (IIT), I taught Honors undergraduate classes in the University of Delhi for 10 years. Out of sheer curiosity and interest in a totally unknown yet a promising field in the early 90's, I further pursued a Master’s in Computer Science at UNC Charlotte where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was nominated by the faculty to the National Honor Society for academic excellence and scholarship. With that, I was immediately hired by Bank of America as Asst. VP from where I rose the ladders of Corporate America for another 10-12 years becoming a Project Manager at Oracle Corporation. I thoroughly enjoyed working with my clients in the consulting industry by providing adept business solutions through new technology; however, there was a part of me that felt unfulfilled, which could never equal my joy of working with children! I quit my lucrative corporate position as Senior Consulting Manager to return to my inner calling.
With a deep passion for kindling a spark in the young minds, and wanting to make academics as exciting as sports, I have been providing private tutoring since 2005 to kids (K-12) to develop their intrinsic motivation and aptitude for academic success. I ardently advocate for children by planning and supporting their educational goals and serving as an effective liaison between parents and schools in resolving issues in the best interest of the child. As an experienced educator and a parent of a "profoundly-gifted" child, I have personally jumped through several hoops from Montessori to public to private schools in surmounting many a challenge in our educational system. Equipped with all the learning through those emotionally draining 12 years, I not only help my students excel in their own classrooms, but I also share my extensive knowledge with parents in how to successfully navigate the schooling years of their precious children. Through steadfastness and encouragement, I set my students on a path of independent learning, no matter which subject. I aim to make a lasting positive difference in your child in more than one way!
